This month the orchestra have been invited to play in Liverpool University’s international festival of new music, the Open Circuit festival.
The Merseyside Improvisers Orchestra, under the direction of Ged Barry, present a wide variety of compositions, improvisations, and everything in between. This program celebrates performer agency and collaborative authorship by showcasing open works of the twentieth century, contemporary compositions by local composers, and directed improvisation. Works included in the programe will be from Christian Wolff, George Lewis and Will Redman.

Another chance to come and join the free music improvisation jam in Liverpool!
The Bureau of Unexpected Musical Encounters is back again this month on Tuesday 21st March, 7.30pm until 9pm. It’s upstairs at The Ship and Mitre, 133 Dale St, Liverpool L2 2JH. Musicians’ names who attending go into a hat and are pulled out and organised into duos and trios, quartets. All musicians from any musical genres and instruments welcome. Also, dancers, performance artists and poets are most welcome.
