Merseyside Improvisors Orchestra Concert. Performing John Zorn’s Cobra. 15/7. 8pm.

Merseyside Improvisors Orchestra play John Zorn’s most famous game piece, Cobra, for a group of Improvisors and a prompter. The composition consists of a series of cues notated on cards and rules corresponding to the cues that direct the musicians what to do. Expect fragments of styles colliding and fragmenting, ambient drone, Improv noise, metal, funk and free jazz. The orchestra will be directed by our friends from The Noise Upstairs, Anton Hunter and Rodrigo Constanzo, two legends of the impro and experimental music scene in Manchester.

Don’t miss it, it’s going to be a good one!

Saturday 15th July. 8pm.
